In Fifth Pre-Season Friendly in Austria
Al Hilal’s first football team emerged victorious in their fifth pre-season friendly match, defeating Al Duhail of
Qatar 2-1. The match, held in Austria on Wednesday, saw Al Hilal dominate the first half with a 2-0 lead thanks
to goals from Musab Al Juwayr and Mohammed Al-Qahtani. Al Duhail managed to reduce the deficit in
the second half, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
Match Details and Lineup
Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus opted for a youthful starting lineup, featuring players like Abdullah Al Owais,
Hamad Al Yami, Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly, Ali Al Bulayhi, Yasser Al Shahrani,
Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves, Musab Al Juwayr, Abdullah Al-Zaid, Mohammed Al-Qahtani, Abdullah Al-Hamdan,
and Abdullah Radif. Notably, the coach chose to rest several key players, including Moroccan goalkeeper
Yassine Bounou and the Serbian duo of Savic and Mitrovic.
Pre-Season Performance
Al Hilal began their pre-season campaign with a commanding 6-0 victory over Neusiedl in
Austria, followed by a 2-0 win against Al Arabi of Qatar. However, they suffered a narrow 1-2 defeat to
South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns before bouncing back with a 1-0 win over Italian club Como.
The team’s pre-season preparations are set to conclude with a final friendly against Udinese Calcio on Saturday.
